Product story

We exist in the chaos of the city. A constant maelstrom of modern static. Emotional sparring in the confines of a concrete headache.

But there is another world that calls to us. A world without edges. In this world we are infinite, boundless, limitless.

Amidst the chaos and sharp edges of modern city life this blue reminds me of an inner space. An infinite world of possibilities, of freedom.

Inspired by artist Yves Klein of the NOUVEAU RÉALISME movement, for this contemporary sculpture I used ultramarine blue with a matt varnish finish. This helped to avoid light reflections and maintain some of the potency of the pigment.

Throughout history blue has come to represent divinity. Its subconscious meaning invoking a connection to something beyond the physical world. Yves Klein, paid homage to this divine colour when he created International Klein Blue. In Kleins own words:

‘Blue is the invisible becoming visible. Blue has no dimensions, it is beyond the dimensions of which other colours partake.’
